Hi,i have a problem with my flavel oven not igniting, last night i accidently spilled some liquid on to the burner and now it wont ignite.i have thoughly cleaned and dried the area and it is sparking and you can smell the gas but just wont ignite.I tried using a lighter with some sucess but the flame was higher on the right so i am wondering if its safe to use.Any advice would be much appreciated, thank you.

When you say "oven" do you mean oven, or do you mean hob?

Post some photos please.

What was this "liquid?"

It was liquid and is the oven, sorry i do not know how to post photos,i was cooking chicken breasts in a sauce, checked them and pushed them back in and the tray fell down the back of the oven and the liquid has spilled onto the burner:cry:

I'm sorry I don't know the oven. Hob is easy.

You may need to take some of the parts out to clean thoroughly. I suspect there may be burned-on residue blocking the holes or on the flame sensor device.

You may be able to get guidance from
