Flavel Aspen 50 Gas Oven

I have a problem with my gas oven (Flavel Aspen 50) - Its an oven where I have to push the dial in to ignite it, and then release it after a few seconds. But now, as soon as I release the dial, the oven goes out (no matter how long i hold it in for). Having checked online, i think the thermocouple needs replacing.

Is this something I can do, or must I get a gas engineer out to do it?
