Flexible hose fix

First, I want to start out by saying I have fixed flexible hoses before and I know how to fix a hose if it is completely cut in half or has a leak. I have the adapters to do that. This is a unique situation. I have a very long flexible hose in which the sheath is totally intact and the hose has been cut. (I have no idea how this happened. )My question is, how do I find the appropriate place to cut the sheath in order to join the hose? I can’t stretch out the hose because The tubing is not joined together. Please advise.
