Evening all.
I guess this is the right place to bring this up as it isn't related to construction.....
I have a small project on the go, long story (think Fred in the shed bodging). Need to make a flexible pneumatic hose up. Struggling with terminology etc to identify what is needed. Hoping someone has experience in this subject area?
Hose length approx. 1.5m. Needs quick connect fittings both ends. First end I have identified as Foster FST series, size 12 male (1/8"). Other end can be any type. System pressure will ideally be up to 500 psi.
Things I can't seem to get to the bottom of:
1. Can't seem to find much in the way of pneumatic hose that will withstand the above pressure. Have found the odd offering with 40 bar (roughly 500 psi) burst pressure rating but nothing rated for continuous use at that pressure. Am I looking for something that doesn't exist? If yes, can I use hydraulic hose?
2. The Foster couplings seem to have either NPT/FPT/MPT or Metric parallel threads ie. 10mm. How do I go about connecting these to whatever hose becomes available?
Maybe an unusual one for this forum? Any ideas about a more appropriate site to bash this about very welcome.
TIA
