I am having a new floor in my reception (see pictures). It looks nice but when I look in the edge of the floor, where it meets the old skirting board, it appears as having no gap in some places.

At the moment I have removed the radiators and the temperature is between 10-13 celsius degrees.

Would it be a problem when the temperature go to 20 celsius degrees with the radiators on or when in summer gets close to 30 degrees in some hot days?

PS: I will install a scotia trim around the old skirting board.

Easiest way would be a tracksaw with a small enough profile to cut a slice off all the way along - won't work in the corners so a multitool or something may be needed
Would have been far easier to remove the skirting?

I suppose you could make a horizontal cut in the skirting? Then chisel out the bottom?

Just to make it clear, my question is:
Does it need more gap for the wood to expand?
