Hi, I am refurbishing a 1970 bungalow the previous owner converted the garage into a extra room, he laid a new floor 2 years ago which has a Visqueen DPM the top edges of the visqueen are visible by approx 1.5 inches above the screed floor and lay against the inside render I have ripped out the dob and dash plaster board which was hiding the DPM, I am wondering if in the future there might be a possibility that damp might rise around the visqueen edge onto the inside rendered walls, I have checked the bottom of the interior walls with a meter and the readings are around 15% to 17% which I am told is acceptable further up the wall the readings are zero , I am going to have the inside re-rendered and plastered so before I get to that stage should I be concerned that a damp problem may raise its ugly head in a few years time, the floor has only been down 2 odd years I have the chance now to get any potential problem put right before I get it plastered ,
If anyone has advice I would very much appreciate it.
