floor tile

i would like to tile my bathroom floor,i have read the sticky which has answered most of my questions,what i am worried about is after laying 15mm ply on top of the floor boards plus the tile thickness is there will be a slight step between the carpet one side and the tile the other,is there any way around this.the carpet to tile joining strips i have seen will not take that sort of height difference.
