Hi would any 1 recommend fitting a flue restrictor onto a pre cast flue fitted with a focal point Blenheim inset gas fire?

What do manufacturers instructions say.

Usually restrictors on fires are removed for precast but instructions will confirm this

Not unless you can calcuate minimum flue heights then no.

No. I have NEVER seen a fire that allows a flue restrictor to be left on when fitting to a PCF. Why would you want to, particularly, by the way?

I wouldn't buy or sell ANY Focal Pointless product. for a laugh, telephone them and question them in detail about their warranty.

Flue height is fine. Manufacturers instructions state ' fit the flue restrictor into a class 1 chimney or 'good' class 2 chimney if spillage is detected then remove restrictor, no spillage was detected but excessive flue pull was which was causing flame lift which is why restrictor must have been fitted.
It must be a really good pre cast flue ( unusual really).

So you are saying the restrictor is in place , I thought you were asking if a restrictor could be fitted?
Minimum flue heights are a calculation based upon flue size/pull/spillage , or............... in your case whether restrictor may or may not be fitted.

Posisbly find the guy who built the chimney raked all the joints. ;)

Sorry yes restrictor is in place, customer called to have fire serviced previous gas fitter had fitted restrictor due to excessive flue pull but spillage test was perfect.
Was just curious because because never seen one fitted to a PCF before.
But MF instructions due state to fit the restrictor into a 'good' class 2 chimney unless spillage is detected.
