FLUIDMASTER 400UK BOTTOM INLET VALVE

This toilet valve has been installed for 18 months, periodically it a 2 second flow is heard, on checking the height in cistern it has not reached the overflow !!
Although it has not been left all day before using.

It fills as normal reaching the set height and shuts off.
any ideas , thanks.

Maybe the flushing mechanism is a more modern type and not fully closing, enabling water to trickle into the pan. Hence the float valve has to make up the cistern volume when the water level falls sufficiently to activate the float valve.

Water not trickling into pan
moving the float valve up and down and it shuts off when raised and seems to hold for some hours and then the dreaded short sharp fill !!
And there is not regular time for this to happen
