Help with installing Fluidmaster 400uk bottom fill valve please

I have an old style cistern with a flush and ball cock valve.
The ball cock valve wont close off anymore and water overflows.
I have bought a fluidmaster 400uk brass shank bottom fill valve but need help on how to fit please. will the flush work ok as before as the ballcock valve and flush seem independant
will fluidmaster work in my toilet as replacement to ballcock valve.
what are the steps to do this as not a plumber
