I have just got a fluidmaster cable dual flush valve for installation. What I cannot understand it has a partial flush adjusting slide which has more/less marked numbers 1 to 12 but the slide will only move up to about 3 but then falls back again. Also on the other side marked more/less 1 to 6 which I cannot move at all. I’m obviously missing something could you please help me?.

depends on which one it is but usually they should just move up and down their scales relatively freely, they shouldn't be tough to move or locked in position.
