From reading the installation manual for a Baxi Duo Tec I note
the importance of flushing a new system to get rid of flux Etc
prior to filling. Should this process also be followed if the system
is later modified? I am having 2 of my rads changed for larger ones
that will require the pipe runs to be lengthened, this will involve about
4 / 6 extra soldered joints. Should it be flushed again?

Yes it should be flushed through, as you will have drained down anyway and will have to add inhibitor. Flushing won't take much to do.
