I would like to have a bath installed with a folding glass screen at one end as I intend to have a shower installed in the bath. Therefore the screen starts from bath height and not floor height.

Does the glass screen have to be attached to a brick/block wall to carry it?

The wall has wooden paneling over a pine frame.

Potentially the wooden paneling could be removed at the section where the screen is to be attached and a new vertical pine timber could be attached to the internal frame here to carry the screen.

The timber should hold it but how are you going to waterproof it.?

Do you mean stopping moisture from seeping through the timber paneling?

The paneling is 1930s timber, not MDF, but it is thin.

I had thought of painting the paneling with the paint below, and just ensuring any gaps are sealed with a mastic product.
