So BA are to charge to reserve seats now:

"Customers frequently request specific seats, but in the past we've only been able to confirm them 24 hours in advance or on the day."

Sudenly they now have the technology to reserve them further in advance than 24 hours BUT ONLY BECAUSE it is another cash-cow for them.

It's quite shocking how some companies put so much energy into finding more ways of making money. It's almost as though they think it's their purpose to increase profits. Ludicrous!

I use Ryanair quite a bit. They charge people to get priority boarding.

Why people are obsessed with getting on first is beyond me,there is a seat for everyone.

Really? You mean like a profit-making business?

Is Ryanair not a benevolently funded airline that exists solely to transport impatient whiny skinflints from one place to another?

I use Ryanair quite a lot visiting parents in Spain. First time I never bothered with priority boarding and I ended up being sat away from the missus and 6 month old daughter, which was a bit hectic to be honest

I use it now and at least I cant pretty much guarantee that we will all get a seat together

That's what happens with most other airlines - it's first come = first served.

With Ryanair you get a refund for being lazy enough to sit down while everyone else is queuing like sheep. It's pure poetry.

But not everyone will, and if that ever did happen, another system will prob be brought into place.

Including the charge for priority boarding, i'm yet to find a cheaper airline than Ryanair to get me and the family over to Spain. Plus there is the bonus of having to from fly Liverpool airport which is pretty close by.

we have similar concerns flying or getting to a place in sweden called vaasteras

o'leary is such a mafia crook, that he pumps the local communities into giving him preferential rates for landing charges, if they object he takes it else where.
local business suffers so they capitulate to the don.
he will change destination and departure from any of 2 going to 3, calling them all stockholm.
