In court doesnt make him guilty, that's for the court to decide.
If he hadn't done it, he wouldn't be there, or he would have left court proven innocent.
So he went to court, AND he was found guilty.
This really isn't rocket science, but I understand why you are struggling with it.

A court is the best place for any legal offence to be decided. The fact that mistakes happen is a good reason not to have the death penalty, but it's probably the best we've got for most occasions, unless you know different.
There are rights to appeal, and I hope they are used when appropriate.
