hi very difficult to get cement to site, thinking mixing on site, but concerned using 85 litre hire mixer will take for ever for 4-4.5 m3,also i take it mix fairly runny to help level? cheers

is this for an extension?

most builders would use a concrete pump for hard to reach sites these days -some companies have a concrete mixer with pump attached -yes its expensive but the extra say £300 or so is worth it

a pump can usually do a run upto about 100 metres

from memory a 2 guy team can mix a cubic metre of concrete by hand in around an hour, maybe 40 minutes if they push it. no builder would consider doing a 4.5 metre cube by hand

cheers no just low walls in garden but very long some 40 metres in total, ive got a minimix company coming, but first comment was wanted to charge 170 a metre, but mine are mostly only 300 by 300 footings so as say about 4-4.5 cubic metres, also needs to do steps up small steep bank approx 900mm any advice?

i wondered if mis heard and 170 cubic meter?

I suspect you did. They won't care how you want to spread it, charges are always volumetric, probably with a minimum charge (3 cubic metres seems common)
