Forcing Android tablet onto wifi

I have a Samsung tablet 8A that has very poor WiFi connection.

I generally have no interest in WiFi tech.

In various rooms in the house, my Samsung phone gets speeds of 120Mbps or thereabouts, and the tablet 20 or 12. Sometimes less and it becomes unusable.

Occasionally, just after connecting or changing between AP and hub, it is fast for a while, then drops.

Searching online, I find this is a common complaint.

I have seen people say that the tablet is choosing an unsuitable frequency. If I understand it, the hubs can transmit on 5k or 2.4k

5k is capable of faster speeds

But in a house,5k is obstructed by walls, floors, pipes etc

And the tablet keeps choosing the obstructed frequency.

Does this sound believable?

Can I force the tablet to use the other frequency?

A few minutes ago I moved rooms, changed from AP to hub, and ran a speed test. Got 120Mbps down, 27Mbps up.

Just did it again. In exactly the same place.

It's now 38 and 15

I have nothing else running. Even the smart TV is off.

With dual connection options I give the 2.4 a different name and password so devices can’t switch .

I don't know how to do that. Will it be in hub management? I have it but never used it.
