Ford C Max central locking

2004 model C Max. Car will lock with key from drivers door [Key remote not working for some time]but will not open with key.the only way to open the car is to go through the tailgate [using the key as the remote has not operated the tailgate for some time but still works by the key] then release all the doors by pulling the open lever on the inside of the drivers door. The car has to be left unlocked permanently.
Any ideas to solve the problem.

I'm assuming you've tried changing the batteries?

sounds like you need to inspect the wires in the door gaitors.
