Ford Focus 2007 MK2 Sport Suspension maintenance

Hello,

I own a MK2 2007 Ford Focus which originally had the ‘sport‘ suspension option fitted. If I do a look up against my car reg at: Ford Online Shop this is confirmed.
One of my front springs is now broken so it’s prudent for me to change the shocks and springs on both sides since they were last done 10 years/50,000 miles ago. Also, MOT continually advises that both front near and offside lower suspension arm bushes are worn so intention is to have the pair of wishbones replaced too.

Qu./ What components of the suspension system are modified to provide sport suspension besides the shocks and springs? Are the wishbones and drop links special too?

I’m leaving the work to my local garage this time but I asked if they intend to fit ‘sport’ components too, but they just said the supplier supplies parts based on the car reg, which feels like an unsatisfactory explanation. In theory they should supply the ‘sport’ components but I need to check this with them again I think.

Qu./ What are the impacts of not fitting ‘sport’ suspension components to the front, if the rear still has sport components? Is this a safety/handling no-no or doesn’t it matter very much if I am just worried about normal driving and reliability?

If it's sport suspension as oe, then replacement parts will be to that spec.

If it's standard, but been modified then standard would be supplied

From memory, the only difference (easily recognisable) on the arms is ball pin diameter, so they won't interchange
