In theory what you have done should have cured the problem. So either you used the wrong washers or didn't cut the seating properly. Are the taps very old? Look carefully at the seats - do they have a little groove across them caused by water leaking over many years? If so, cut deeper with re-seating tool until there is no trace of the groove left. All the above usually applies only to high pressure taps - typically the cold side.

thankyou for the reply... i had the right washers as plumbers merchant matched my old one ...so i guess i shall have a go at fitting a new mixer tap and hopefully i'll have no more prob's:cool:

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

p.s i have looked again there are no grooves completely smooth... :confused:

It is known for tap bodies to go porous, especially in soft water areas. In which case a new tap is about the only answer. Try Bristan as a replacement, they're cheapish but reasonable quality, and widely sold on the net.
