Franke kitchen sink

Missus now thinks I am a plumber….

Anyway, removed the old sink, fitted this new jobbie, leaks out of the drain holes. Should the metal bits that are seen from the sink have rubber bits on them please? Mine didn’t come with any but did for the plastic bits underneath that connect to it so I used clear silicone.

Do you have a photo to show what you mean? Is it a basket strainer waste?

Depends on the design of it as to where the water sealing happens. As it leaks you're going to dismantle it anyway, so can you take it apart and show us what you have? If she needs to use the sink in the mean-time put a large bucket under the drain hole. When emptying the bucket, use the toilet; don't empty it down the sink

If you are talking about the strainer (covering the plug hole) yes, they have a rubber grommet/washer on the underside of said strainer(s)... well the do on my Franke.

Strainers come with rubber seal underneath, i always add sealant.

Top metal bit that pokes through is siliconed but didn't come with any rubber. Bottom bit does have rubber, does this also need siliconing? Ta

No silicone or mait required on sink wastes. They "should" come with gaskets top and bottom and I've never had them leak... Basins are a different matter.
Plumbers mait is always my "go to" with them and I throw away the top gasket/washer.
