Freezer not working...

Hi

My upright frost-free freezer has stopped working. I cant feel or hear the compressor running, but it is hot to the touch - which confuses me and makes me wonder if they can jam?

I'm handy at fixing anything, so is there anything obvious I can check before I shell out £400 on a new one

While the General Electric FUF20SURWW has all the features you'd expect to find in an automatic-defrost upright freezer with a large capacity, it is not very energy-efficient and does not have any surprising convenience or performance features. Additionally, it is not as good a value as other freezers in this category...
