French doors, internal step

Hi
Had my French doors fitted today and just wondering what to do with the void between the cavity and the block work. Do I just fill the cavity with some mortar and once dry put a layer of damp proofing course on top before the floor guys come next week?

Line the cavity with dpm then fill.
