Fridge freezer knocking off

Hi

I have an hotpoint fridge freezer. The fridge compartment is working fine but when turn off at mains plug it in. the freezer will start up and after approx 3 secs will turn off and thats it. Freeezer never gets cold. As I say fridge compartment works a treat.

anyone any ideas???
