I need a new boiler fitting as mine is on its last legs, it is upstairs in the bathroom, which i think is a silly place for it, as we have an electric shower, but dont have a bath fitted, so all we need it for is heating and hot water for washing.
I would like it fitting in the kitchen downstairs, which means we wont have to wait as long for hot water like we do now, also we wont be leaving a load of water in the pipe that has been heated and then just left to cool down.
Would it be the case then, that i will just make the first rad into the last by looping the pipes and the last into the first by connecting upto the boiler, then reversing the valve on the rads.

Possibly, it will basically depend on the size of pipes. The rads may not work properly if the new first rad is only on 15mm pipework.

Thanks guys, i only had to read the replies once !
Your lucky i had to write it !!
twagas From what i have seen under the floor the last rad has 15 mm, if i changed it to 22 mm would this be the only rad that needs changing , or would i have to reduced the rad that was the first into a 15 mm pipe.
Sorry thats the only way i can write this, (its called numpty speak).

From boiler pipes must start in 22mm until the section ahead has no more than 2 medium sized rads on it, then can be 15mm. This is approximate guide for "normal" pipe runs.

Numty speaking again boys. What size is a medium size rad, Apart from being medium that is. :D

So that will be medium then.
First rad will be 1700 x 300 (tall rad designer type ) Second rad will be 1100 x 700, third is 1000 x 700 Double.

Have you only got 3 rads?
If so it probably won't matter too much.

No, that will be the first three in line from the new boiler, if it is fitted downstairs. altogether there are 9 rads in the system, four down and five up.
