Hi all, first post (and question) so hopefully someone can help. Tenanted property is developing mould. New air vents to be put in. I have also been advised to treat the mould with mould-killing wash then paint with fungicidal paint in the affected areas

Can someone tell me WHO sells fungicial paint in a variety of colours _ I need Magnolia at the present time

Thanks

Raj

you need to attack the source of excess humidity in the house.

you can provide additional ventilation but some people do not like ventilation and will switch off fans and block vents.

If the tenants are in the habit of hanging wet washing about the house, it is almost impossible to cure people of this habit, and the property will never be dry until (1) they move out or (2) summer comes and they have the sense to hang their washing outside.

If they insist on having hot showers without using an extractor fan until the bathroom is dry you can never cure it.

A VENTED (not a condensing) tumble drier will hep a lot, but TDs use a lot of electricity so are expensive to run.

If the source is water leaks, failed DPC, or damp rising from under the floor, it can be fixed.
