hi all,
I'm looking for an integrated dishwasher. I've had these in the past and they were in a steel or plastic enclosure, same as a freestanding one, only of course slightly smaller. The ones I'm seeing online now have a sort of furry insulation on the outside. This won't be seen of course when the appliance is fitted, but I'm not keen because of damp or possible occasional visits by mice, who knows? Question is, does anyone know why this is, and can I get an integrated dishwasher with a normal enclosure? Also, how would I tell as the online pics usually only show the front and inside?
Thanks in advance.
Regards from Terry

the coating you mention is probably the sound-absorbent layer, which will be out of sight when the machine is built-in

Thanks JohnD yes it won't be seen, but if possible I'd like one that was steel or placky on the outside. I don't know but it looks like a reservoir for damp to me. Previous integrated dishwashers I've had didn't have this,at least not on the outside, but of course that was a few years ago.
Regards,
Terry

Hm not easy to find out about this. I'm looking at a SMV69M01GB from Bosch and - maybe I didn't explain my question very well - but they didn't seem to know if it is "furry" on the sides or metal/plastic. One photo from the side or a 45 degree angle would do but all the sites just show a "full frontal". (Sorry about all this furry full frontal stuf!) A salesman I spoke to at a supplier didn't know because they're built in in the showroom. Maybe someone out there fits them regularly? It all modern dishwashers are like this then ok, but I might avoid if poss. TIA
Regards, Terry

It's just furry on the top and black plastic on the rear. The sides have panels on so no fur can been seen on the side.

ah thanks rocks1. looks like a good machine, might go for it. The way it projects the time onto the floor in a light beam is cool no?
Regards Terry

The insulation is not very thick and of no interest to mice. You food is a different matter.
