Perhaps showing a great deal of amateritus however....Can I simply replace a fuse in my main box with an RCBO?
a) Would it fit (at work so don't know what sort of box but it's reasonably new)
b) Any regs I need to know?

thankyou !
John.

I am installing an undertile heating system and they recommend an RCD be used.

So rather than just putting an inline RCD (or plug version) I was just wondering whether there was such a thing and whether it made sense to do that as a neater job.

Which is notifiable - see the definition of "special installation" here: Schedule 4.

Did you notify in advance?

Are you using a registered electrician for the work?

Do you really mean "fuse"?

If the maker of the CU makes an RCBO for it then it will fit.

An additional regulatory issue - as well as notification and testing, you should (as in eminently sensible and not one single good reason not to) take note of the fact that there's a whole section (3 pages) of requirements for floor heating systems in the Wiring Regulations.
