hi there , i am wondering if someone can help . i have got a standard lamp with a long thin bulb (the same as the ones that are in security lights)with a dimmer on it and the fuse blew ,it is 20mm long x 5mm wide x 6 amp but it is not a clear glass fuse but solid and i dont know if it is a slow blow or an antisurge can anyone help!!!!

look carefully at the metal caps - it should be marked with a type code an rating. Post answer here.

ALthough it's pretty likely to be a quick blow type if protecting a dimmer.

it actually says 1.6 H 250v

I know F is Quick blow, and T is anti-surge(slow blow) but not sure about H
Does it look ceramic, if so they are often high breaking capacity (HBC) which may explain the H.

Funnily enough Class H stands for Non Time Delay

and that means........

it means it has no time delay in action. Read Normal Operation compared to Fast blow or Timed
