Further to this, my original request, I am now able to half answer the cause of the problem myself. The surplus water we are finding in the machine is coming in from when the washing machine is draining. This I can fix by adjusting the pipe work.
On removal of the dishwasher bottom panel I find the tray there is full of water, hence the electrics tripping out. My query now is how the water is getting into this tray when the washing compartment should be watertight and shouldn't there be some kind of a float valve to warn of overflow in the tray?
