So we had a new uPVC door fitted a couple of years ago up until recently the uPVC gap fill trim has started to come away from the frame.
At a close inspection the gap between the frame and the brickwork is about 2 inches with no expanding foam etc .basically can see right through to the cavity .
I am going to sort out the trim take it off clean up etc stick it back on and re seal with sealant .My question is it worth buying some expanding foam to fill the gap whilst the trim is off .wouldn't this be causing issues with draft or making it feel colder in winter ?
Any advice would be gratefully received

linearamp, good evening.

Short answer is yes you can install expanding foam as you are contemplating.

Just watch out for the foam expanding and deforming the door frame inwards towards the door?
