Wonder if anybody can help.

I have an two room which are slightly different heights i.e. 2cm. This was the result of extending the house the gap has been eliminated somewhat by the builder providing a slight cement ramp over a 15cm threshold but the new room has chipboard floor board which move and crack the edge of cement where it buts up to the chipboard.

My question is, it there any floor level etc compound which allows a limited amount of flex. Or does anybody have any other ideas?

Thanks.

I had this problem with a through lounge. I took up floor boards going away from the height difference & jacked up the joists to make the slope over about 8ft. It was well worth the effort.

If you aren't taking the flooring through into the lower room ,
you could get a hardwood threshold as wide as the door frame (usually 4 or 5 inches wide )and the length of the opening (2ft 6in, usually) and have a 10mm rebate put on bottom edge of the length of the piece of wood and the tuck the laminate flooring under that .
