Hi

I have an opening around 2395 x 1200mm high, and have a window availble to me 2335mm x 1195mm.

There is a 60mm gap, and allowing for 10mm each side, means 40mm difference.

Is there any hope in hell of doing anything to get this to fit and be ok. I was thinking of getting some similar timber profiled to be screwed to the side. Is this advisable?

Thanks

:?: The new window is 60mm narrower than the existing, minus 10mm for the gap makes the new window 50mm not 40mm too small

Depending how heavy (thick) the frame already is it may look daft making it look 25mm thicker, if you can live with that then its your call, the only thing that will look daft is whether the cill on the new window has been cut off flush with the window or whether it still has 'horns', if its cut flush then they won't reach the bricks and that will look rank!
