I have ponding in 3 areas of recently laid block paving, I suspect is due to clogging.
Marshalls SuDs Development manager states:
"Clog easily and stop working
We have been installing permeable paving for over 15 years and in all that time, we have never experienced any issues with clogging."
Its laid on the correct bedding, or so it appears, traffic over parts of the paving have been builders with various bags of waste containing plaster boards, used plaster, some muck, so in theory some of this could have spilled and done the clogging, but its all been kept mostly clean by all the rain.
I have tried scrapping out whatever seems to be clogging the block gaps, but cannot get a thin bladed spreader between the block gaps, which means I can't see if there is any kiln dried sand used, which I will assume has been, but is covered by what ever is causing the clogging.
Any one have any thoughts on how to resolve this, apart from taking it up, cleaning the blocks and then re-laying. Is Jet washing is out of the question on block paving ?
