First I take it building garage with blocks laid on flat side is easier then on edge? Also is this better insulation than inner wood frame with insulation of some kind. (Part of the garage would be a small room. Thanks

No Builder but....
won't it cost two to three times as much?
A solid wall will be ....solid. But also be cold.
I would have thought that a wood frame inside with insulation would be warmer and possibly cheaper.

Thank you. Any thoughts on insulation. I'm thinking damp proof membrane between blocks and stud frame infilled with loft insulation? Covered with?

The construction detail needs to consider dampmarrangements and vapour barrier.

There should be a cavity between the walls and ties to connect them.

The easiest option would be to do a cavity wall with 2 block skins or build an all timber frame with renderboard externally.
