This is probably building as much as garden - I've just started clearing a structure from in front of our garage which was falling to bits as it was made of concrete sat on sand, mud and rubble, covered with tiles. It's basically an extension to the garage foundations and quite useful for cutting wood on etc. I'm not sure what to do now with it - re-tile it but straightening the edges as it is all over the place at the moment, cut the concrete down further (there's only about 2cm clearance under the door at the moment) and clad it with decking somehow, try and cover it in concrete (difficult to get flat and prone to cracking at that thin depth ?) or demolish it all. The main requirement is steps to the garage door - make some of decking or mould them from concrete ? Any better suggestions ? The actual foundation of the garage, which is separate from the structure but buttted against it, sticks out about 20cm - I imagine that cutting that right back to the garage wall, thereby getting rid of everything in front of the garage, is not advisable ?
