garage door lock

is there a key for to lock the inside of a standard garage door, it has a red handle and a black hex type fitting that key might fit (like a gas cupboard door uses) ???

or if this doesnt work was thinking of ideas to lock it from the inside -

so can come in and lock it from the inside??

Don't know about how to lock your particular door from the inside but a very simple method would be to fit a hasp and staple.

No such thing as a standard garage door.
Timber? metal? composite? pvc? hinged? up and over? etc etc.
