Hello All,
I recently had to have my old garage floor ripped out for a pipe to be replaced underneath as the floor was sinking. The groundworks company who did this for me relaid the floor with hardcore as a base, DPM and then a 100mm screed finish. I had thought they where putting in a concrete subfloor in, but they did not. I questioned this with them and they told me that a concrete subfloor was not needed and the screed would be stable enough to prevent the floor from sinking.
Is this true, from what I can see online, all floors require a concrete subfloor.
The screed is still sandy and I wanted a clean finish. Can I use a concrete sealer to stop it from leaching sand, or a concrete self level compound to provide a smoother cleaner finish?
