Anyone got any idea why filling station forecourts seem to be closed for 'updates' with surprising regularity ?
According to the Petrol Retailers Assoc. these businesses are struggling to make ends meet, with supermarket fuel outlets claiming they only sell the products as a 'loss leader'
Two of our busiest local filling stations (Shell & Tesco) are closed & appear to be replacing their underground storage tanks; any connection I wonder with the shift to E10 ?
It's becoming increasingly obvious that those larger outlets that are dispensing the so called protection grade are cashing in on demand as the extra price per litre for the E5 97/99 octane grade around here has gone from about 6 pence to 15 over the course of just a couple of months.
