1 x mains wire goes to light switch 2.
1 x mains wire goes to light fitting.
Light switch 2 goes to light switch 1.
Light switch 1 goes to light fitting.
1 x mains wire goes to light switch 2.

At both switches, swap the black wire and the red wire from the other cable

So that you end up with this at both switches.
Totally agree, I wanted to say this at post 15 (as I'm sure EFL was too) but wanted to make sure first.
