Further to my previous post about the garage lighting (i just went with a flex on each batten in the end, and plugged them into a 4 way trailing socket for now), i've been mulling over some ideas for the sockets.

I'm still waiting on the landlord sorting things out, but i'm more just looking for clarification of an idea for when he finally sorts it out.

From my initial discussion with the electrician and the fact the current setup is pretty bad, I'm hoping he's going to install a nice new piece of SWA out to a garage CU, then have an MCB for the lighting and a 32A MCB for the socket ring main.

What i'd like is an isolator for the sockets, so i can kill the power to them from one point (near the light switch for example), without having to goto the CU.

Would it be acceptable to run a piece of 4 or 6mm T&E from the garage CU, to a 32A DP switch, then run the two 2.5mm leads from the ring into the load side of the DP switch?

Why didn't you add this to your previous topic.
You obviously remember all about the electrics to your garage, I bloomin' well don't!

At least post a link to your previous topic.

How bigs the garage?
Why not have the CU installed in a convenient position so you can easily isolate it?
Bearing in mind you can also isolate the whole garage circuit via the MCB/RCBO Supply from the house.
But it is possible to install an in line DP isolator.
Is it a ring or a radial circuit you'll be using?
not read your original post regarding this
