Garden patio advice needed

Hi, I'm putting in a patio at the end of the garden. It is against a tall, rendered garden wall on two sides, and fence panels on the third side. The patio will be on top of an old shed base, which will have hardcore on top of it to bring it up to level height, and then concrete then porcelain tiles.

Qu 1: Do I need to have a gap around the back and side edges of the patio for gravel for drainage, or will the fall of the patio be enough?

Qu 2: If we wanted planters built into the back somewhere, or needed gravel sides as above, would it matter if it alldrained straight down into the hardcore layer? Does drainage under the hardcore and concrete upset the foundation of it as there is another concrete shed base below?

Thanks a lot

Leave a drainage gap and plant up. Type 2 Hardcore properly compacted will drain well but with the patio fall, type 1 will be fine imo.

Thanks. So for the drainage gap, I can just put down the bedding mortar beside it, leave about ten cm along the wall with mot type 1 as its base, and below that will be the old shed base, and just fill it up with gravel? No weird guttering or membranes I need to put in? Thanks
