Garden Tap

Silly question folks but any advice would be appreciated (as always)...

I have a bog-standard garden tap. 'Er indoors has a hozelock-type fitting on it at the moment but it still leaks from the tap end.

I am assuming that I can fit the hose to the tap directly at one end (using the ridges on the tap spout) and then tighten a jubilee clip to it. However, IIRC, I tried this before and it still leaked water.

Is there anything on the market which solves this issue or is it just the way things are?

Before you shove the hose end up the ribbed tap spout, dunk the hose in very hot water......this will make it pliable, and the jubilee clip should then grip well.
If the hose can be easily pushed onto the tap ribs, its probably a bit big in its internal diameter.
I usually have a short length of hose permanently connected to the tap, and then another hozelock male fixed to that - but there again, I'm just sad!
