Garden Vac & Blower recommendations wanted

The motor in my Black & Decker Garden vac / blower has just burned out.
It did get lots of use such as clearing leaves & blowing clear the lawn & surrounding area after mowing. My only gripe with the B&D is the seal on the bag. It seemed to let out lots of dust & leaves.
I'm looking to get another vac/blower & wondered if anyone could recommend a particular brand.

you know i've never owned one and never felt the need to... a good old rake always did it for me... am i missing something?
