better pic in my album.

i would like to replace the red tile painted border in my garden as per photo.

its a 9 inch gap and 6 foot long,i would like to put red or similar block paving there,so after raking out this old red stuff can i cement in the block paving.
block paving will be laid across the old red area inline with the darker blocks.
any help would be greatly appricated.

Yea go nuts, what specifically were you asking about?

Block paving if restrained on all sides can simply be layed on compacted grit sand and then jointed with kiln dried sand. In your case getting at the edges may be difficult so it may be more straight forward to lay them on a bed of mortar say 5 building sand to 1 cement about 40mm thick, then joint them with dried sand.
