HELP - I have recently moved into a new house and no nothing at all about plumbing etc. The fire in the front room I believe has a back boiler to control the fire/central heating. It was working fine for a fair few months until recently - the central heating I dont have a problem with at all however the gas fire, when I ignite it it works fine for about 5 minutes then I get this gushing blowing noise pretty loud it is, any ideas??? I dont know how long it lasts, as soon as it happens I got scared and turned it off! Help please?

It sounds like your fire is back lighting by the injector this is caused by it needing serviced it could also be a leak after the tap that is catching light.. Do not use it and get someone out straight away.
