Gas meter & extractor fan vent okay within same area?

Are there any regs saying this is not allowed? The theory being that if there was a gas leak, the gas should stay within the house so it could be smelt/detected?

I have a gas meter within a wall cupboard that have the bathroom 100mm extractor fan exhaust within 30cm of the meter and its piping.
