gas on glass hobs ?

does any one have, or know much about the gas on glass hobs, currently have a ceramic hob and with a new kitchen on the way will be changing to a gas hob as i found the ceramic did not stand up well over time ie, discoloured above rings etc, love the look of ceramic and just wondered if gas on glass is the best of both worlds.any info would be great
