Twould be a major PITA to do that as is.
Could you use a split PVC sleeve? Pipe? (Like one would with a radiator tail?)

your obviously thinking of unrolling tape around the pipe instead of thinking cutting strips of tape and put them on it length ways .
But yes you could split a plastic sleeve and do it but it needs to be the appropriate type of plastic not just any plastic
what other costs involved ? there is no other costs involved in regards being registered with gas safe
I take it you don't take any update courses, nor have the cost of test gear and regular calibration checks?
I'll just get the pipe moved. My concern was in the event if a CU fire my house disappears from existence. A bit of electrical tape isn't going to help me much there.
and what has that got to do with yearly gas safe registration ?
