Gas Valve info required please

I have a Glow-worm K9049 Gas Valve 24V.
What does the 'REG ADJ' screw do? What is it regulating exactly on the valve? Gas in, gas out, the switching speed, what? I understand the mechanical workings of the valve but need more info. Any help available?

If he was, he would not be asking the question. Switching speed- now there is a thing I will need to find out.
